Privacy Policy

This policy explains how this website, its AI assistant, and the Daily AI News read-only Gmail integration handle information.

Effective and last updated: August 25, 2026

1. Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to adamleung.cn and the Daily AI News demonstration operated by Adam Leung. It also describes relevant data handling when this site directs you to the associated AI chat experience. Third-party websites and services linked from this site are governed by their own policies.

2. Information handled

Google and Gmail data

When the site owner connects a Google Account, the Daily AI News integration uses Google OAuth authorization to access Gmail on the owner's behalf. The integration is configured for read-only use and retrieves message identifiers, subject lines, sender details, dates, snippets, and message bodies only for emails matching the configured sender and Daily AI News subject pattern. It does not send, modify, delete, label, forward, or otherwise write to Gmail.

Public Daily AI News archive

Matching newsletter emails are intentionally displayed through a publicly accessible, read-only archive. The configured sender address is replaced with a generic label before display, but the selected email subject, date, preview, body, and links may be visible to anyone who visits the archive. The Gmail account owner controls which sender and message pattern are eligible for display.

Accounts and conversations

If you use a private account or the AI assistant, the service may process your email address, display name, user identifier, authentication session, prompts, and generated responses. Signed-in conversations may be stored so they can be retrieved later. Guest messages are not written to the Homepage conversation database, although they are processed to generate a response.

Browser and operational information

The site uses local browser storage for theme preferences and cookies for authentication, guest usage limits, and preventing the site-wide view counter from recording the same browser session more than once. The aggregate view count is stored in the server database; the view-session cookie contains no personal details. Like most hosted services, infrastructure may temporarily process standard request information such as IP address, browser type, requested URL, timestamps, and error logs for security, reliability, and troubleshooting.

3. How information is used

Information is used to provide and secure the website, authenticate authorized users, operate the AI assistant, retrieve and render the selected Daily AI News messages, enforce usage limits, diagnose failures, and maintain service reliability. Information is not sold or used for targeted advertising.

4. Google API data

The use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

Google user data is not sold, used for advertising, or used to train generalized artificial intelligence or machine-learning models. People do not read Google user data unless the account owner has given affirmative permission, doing so is necessary for security or troubleshooting, or access is required by applicable law.

5. Storage and retention

OAuth client credentials and the Gmail refresh token are stored on the server and are not exposed through public client-side variables. Gmail access tokens are obtained when needed. The application code retrieves matching Gmail content on demand with caching disabled and does not intentionally persist Gmail message bodies in the Homepage database; the selected content is transmitted to visitors' browsers for the public archive.

Account and signed-in conversation records and the aggregate site view count may be retained while the related service remains active and for a reasonable period needed for backup, security, and legal purposes. Browser storage remains until you clear it, while the view-session cookie normally expires when the browser session ends. Operational logs are retained only as reasonably necessary for security and service maintenance.

6. Disclosure

Information may be processed by hosting, infrastructure, and AI service providers solely as needed to operate the service. Information may also be disclosed when required by law or to protect users, the service, or others. As described above, selected Daily AI News content is deliberately made public; no other Gmail messages are intended for public disclosure.

7. Security and choices

Reasonable technical and organizational safeguards are used, including server-side credential storage, read-only Gmail behavior, sender and subject filtering, output sanitization, and restricted administrative access. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.

The Google Account owner can revoke the application's access at any time from Google Account security settings. You may clear browser storage through your browser, avoid submitting personal information to the AI assistant, or request access to or deletion of information associated with you by contacting the address below.

8. Changes and contact

This policy may be updated to reflect service, legal, or security changes. The effective date above will be revised when material changes are made.
